Admissions & Getting Started

No – you do not need a referral for admission.
Our services are designed for adults aged 18+. We do not accept clients below the age of 18.
The admissions process takes between 45 minutes to one hour.
Waypoint offers same day and urgent admission.

Yes, Waypoint accepts clients who are mandated to attend treatment.
Yes, We abide by the strictest confidentiality regulations to ensure the privacy of all clients. You can expect to learn more about those protections upon admission.
Cell phones, laptops, tablets and other personal electronic devices are not permitted. We strictly enforce these policies to ensure that your focus is on getting and staying sober.
While the facility operates 24/7, most programming for residential and intensive outpatient programming is delivered between 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. For specific hours of operation, please visit our locations pages.

After contacting Waypoint, you can expect the following steps in the admissions process:

To ensure a smooth and seamless process, you should have access to your identifying information, medical history, family history, current medical conditions, substance use history, and insurance information during your initial call. Level of care, along with recommended services and programs, are determined by our clinical team following the initial assessment process. Your personalized treatment plan and recommended services will be reviewed prior to admission.

Treatment Approach & Services

Yes, we support and encourage clients to get involved in 12-step programs.
We do not currently offer dedicated process addiction programs. However, our clinical staff is trained in treating addictive behaviors other than substance use.
Waypoint utilizes Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) as an option for clients in our residential treatment program. The use of MAT is determined on an individual basis and, when utilized, is considered one part a holistic treatment plan. If you’re in our Intensive Outpatient Program, we work closely with community partners to offer MAT services.
Clients can expect to participate in various group sessions, one on one counseling sessions, speaker meetings, dedicated time to address individual work assignments given by therapists. Clients will also have personal time to relax and decompress.
Yes – we strongly encourage complete abstinence from drugs and alcohol for all clients.
Residential treatment, sometimes referred to as inpatient treatment, is when you reside at Waypoint’s facility for the entirety of your treatment program. During intensive outpatient treatment, you can continue to work and fulfill your daily obligations while commuting to one of our offices to receive treatment.

Waypoint offers a variety of therapeutic offerings to clients, including:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Expressive Arts Therapy
  • Recreational therapy
  • Brain-based counseling
  • Group therapy
  • Equine assisted therapy
  • Outdoor therapy
  • Mindfulness and meditation therapy

 

Therapeutic offerings at Waypoint are designed to supplement traditional talk therapies by providing a broader range of holistic and immersive therapeutic approaches to treatment.

Waypoint does not offer a dedicated dual diagnosis program. However, clients are assessed for mental health disorders during the initial assessment process and mental health disorders are treated alongside substance use disorders.
Detox is offered on-site at our residential location.
The total length of stay is determined on an individual basis. In most cases, you can expect to stay in our residential program around 30 days while intensive outpatient programs can last anywhere from 30 days to 90 days.
Yes, you will work with our discharge planner to determine the best next steps for you. While all alumni are encouraged to join Waypoint’s alumni program, additional relapse prevention supports include outpatient therapeutic and medication referrals, information on 12-step meetings, facility follow-ups, and intensive outpatient services.
Yes – all clients receive an individualized treatment plan informed by the initial assessment process. This plan may evolve or change as clients progress through the program.

Residential Experience

Our facility is located on 58 acres of private property – an ideal setting for recovery. Our campus offers a peaceful healing environment with the following features:

  • Fully furnished bedrooms
  • Rustic cabin decor
  • Abundance of natural light
  • Landscaped outdoor sitting areas
  • Waterfront view with island gazebo
Yes, there are generally two clients in a room.
Our residential amenities include access to a shared kitchen/food space, fully catered meals, an on-site laundry facility, and an exercise room. You’ll also have access to on-campus recreation such as equine therapy, fishing, lawn games, and various board/card games.

The typical day starts at 6:00 A.M. with curfew at 11:00 P.M.

  • Monday-Friday groups start at 8:00 A.M. and end at 8:00 P.M.
  • Saturday and Sunday groups start at 9:00 A.M. and end at 8:00 P.M.
  • Lunch is served each day from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M.
  • Dinner is served from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M.
  • Saturday and Sunday family visitation hours are from 2:30 – 4:00 P.M.
Work and school exceptions are coordinated on a client by client basis with our clinical team.
Yes – Waypoint offers catered meals with accommodation for dietary restrictions or needs.
Yes. You are responsible for providing your own tobacco or vape products. All products must be sealed / unopened prior to arrival at the facility.

Family & Support

Family involvement is determined by you at the time of admissions. While we encourage all clients to involve family in their recovery process, your clinical team will work with you to determine who should be involved and to what extent.

Yes – Waypoint offers two groups for families of loved ones at Waypoint.
  • Family Orientation: connects families with clinical staff to answer questions about the program and provide information about Waypoint residential life
  • Family Support Group: connects families of current clients with family of alumni to offer moral support and answer questions about Waypoint

Communication plans with your loved one in treatment is determined by both the client and the clinical team. These plans are not generic and are specific to each client.

Referrals & Professional Inquiries

If you have a referral, please reach out via our contact form or by calling our facility line. A member of our admissions team can provide additional information and resources.
We utilize Trac9 to monitor patient outcomes during treatment. Clients attending Waypoint often experience meaningful reductions in symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD during treatment. Learn more about how Waypoint Measures Success with Trac9.
Yes, we are accredited by the Joint Commission.
We accept referrals from a variety of different sources. Examples include but are not limited to physicians, therapists, psychologists, case managers, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), businesses, universities, clergy, attorneys, jails etc. If you’re unsure whether you can refer a client, please submit a contact form or call the facility to speak with a representative.
In most cases, referral requests are responded to within a few hours of submission.
Collaboration on a client’s care and treatment are managed by your client’s treatment team.

Insurance & Payment Options

We accept most major insurance carriers. You can submit an insurance verification form to our admissions team to review coverage, costs and further plan details for specific programs of interest. A full list of providers we accept can be found on our homepage.
If you do not have insurance, private pay and financing plans are available. Our admissions team can answer any questions related to private pay and financing options.
Yes, insurance verification is part of the admissions process. You should have your insurance information available to ensure verification is smooth and timely.
Yes – our admissions team will answer any questions you have regarding insurance coverage. We have worked with thousands of clients and are familiar with the insurance process specific to detox, residential, and outpatient treatment.
Yes – during the financial consultation part of the admissions process you will receive information on payment plans options. Waypoint is committed to working with you on building the best financial plan available if a payment plan is requested.
Out of pocket costs vary significantly based on payment type (i.e. insurance or private pay), insurance provider, plan deductibles, out of pocket maximums, and other similar factors. During the financial consultation portion of the admissions process, our team will let you know what you can expect to pay out of pocket based on your specific insurance details.
Waypoint does not currently accept Medicaid or Medicare insurance.
